Tooth-colored fillings are an attractive alternative to traditional metal fillings. They do not stand out visibly like metal fillings but match your teeth and are virtually undetectable. It is a white, durable resin (composite) that comes in subtly different shades so the dentist can choose the shade that best matches your natural teeth.

A big advantage of tooth-colored fillings is that they contain no mercury. Mercury is a highly toxic substance. While some dentists still feel comfortable placing metal fillings (amalgam) in their patients’ mouths, we prefer to offer tooth-colored fillings. They are bonded to the tooth, strengthening the tooth, holding it together, and prolonging its life.
